Thank you for the comments and suggestions. I still have hope that I will get my answer someday.
It is unfortunate, but scarves and the like will not help. I have tested several objects of that sort but either the DNA present on them was too degraded by age or the items were contaminated by other peoples DNA. With this thing, I must have definitive proof.
If I am not a Presley that's OK, but I want to know for sure.
There is a collector in California who has many Elvis items; she says she has hairs that were caught in her ring when she got a hug during one of his shows. She has offered to sell them to me, if they have a root attached. I sent her $100.00 as earnest money for them. She told me they are in a baby food jar where they have been since the 1970's. However, she has not found them in all her stuff. I've been waiting for her to locate them for over two years. She has contacted me occasionally to say she still intends to find them for me.
That is the kind of evidence I really have to have. A hair with the root, a DNA sample from Lisa Marie Presley or blood from Elvis are my only alternatives.
I haven't given up, but frankly, I don't know what else to do.
If anyone has suggestions, please contact me at timfarrell15@yahoo.com. I will listen.
Someone suggested a search at ancestry.com and I appreciate that, but the information I would receive from such a search would only be considered circumstantial evidence and I have a lot of that already. It must be proven by DNA for me to have any legal standing regarding this issue.
Again, I appreciate your interest and suggestions.
